Alliceville is the largest city in Pickens County. It is approximately 45 minutes West of Tuscaloosa. It is a farming and forestry community.
Alliceville is the home to one of the countrys newest Rivers, the Tenn- Tom Waterway which offers a safe and and scenic 16,000 miles of inland waterways and The Gulf of Mexico. It provides excellent recreational opportunities, fun and adventure.
The Shark Tooth Creek, also located in Alliceville offers an 11 mile windingroute down the Sipsey River where shark teeth and fossils can be found.
In 2008, The Federal Government announced they would be building the first Female Prison in Alabama in Alliceville. It is expected to be completed in the near future.
